FMCG companies need to lead the recycle bandwagon and give back to society

1. All FMCG companies should be made to provide dustbins outside grocery shops in towns and villages. They can create publicity for their benefit by advertising on the dustbins.
2. Various companies can also join hands (say Bisleri / HCL or Parle G) and organise daily or weekly garbage disposal pick-ups for all plastic bottles, foil and plastic wrappers etc.
3. This exercise will be the social responsibility of these corporates and help recycle all the packaging material by these companies.
4. it could be a promotion :
send back a used wrapper to the company and get back money for the recycled material by the company, the postage should also be borne by the company.
5. this promotion could be tested in tourist populated areas, such as Parts of Rajasthan, Goa, Hampi, Kerela. These locations are usually too burdensome for the government with profit making be the top objective.
6. this could be an opportunity to also separate different types of plastic waste for recycling directly by the companies manufacturing the product.
7. in my personal experience, Pushkar, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Manali, Varkala need immediate bans of Plastic bags and packaging material. The tourist shops and grocery shops should be enforced to use recycled paper or fabric. Packaged drinking water bottles should also be recycled BY the Company, instead of the local village kids.
